What could I do? My eyes slid to the gas stove and the matches I knew were in the drawer. I could blow this whole cabin down. Take them down with me.

Unfortunately, I didn't know who could be around and didn't want to hurt any by passers. I still didn't know who could be outside. I heard another knock, more insistent than before. I thought about peeking out the curtains but then it's possible that they could see me too. I bit my lip. I'd have to peek in the peep hole and hope I didn't make too much noise getting to it.

I slid off my shoes not trusting that they'd be quiet on the hardwood. I got up and slowly made my way over to the door. My heart thudded panicky in my chest wondering if these people would be friend or foe. There were little creaks from the floorboards thanks to my weight but after pausing I realized they didn't notice. I shifted my weight testing the board in front of me before putting my full weight on it.

Thoughts of the Week

Total Words This Week: 7,562

Decided to list some of my thoughts I've had during the week to give you a little more insight on my progress and/or struggles.

• Skipped the check in last Friday since I hadn't written much and decided to finish off on the last day of the month.
• Notice all the zeros? lol I ended up feeling a bit burnt out and fell into a lull and got stuck with writing. 
• Still enjoy working on two stories at a time so I'll probably do it with July Campnano.
• Unfortunately I am not able to catch up with my word count goals but I'm not too worried since I'll work on it again in July. 
• Handwriting takes me longer to write than typing but I like how it flows on paper better.

End of the Month Thoughts

Total Words This Month: 40,342

So I didn't make my overall word count goal of 60k but I didn't do too bad. I've made a little over 40k which is better than I thought but less than I had expected. It looks like 40k is something I can consistently do during a month. Anything more than that is pushing it for me.

I could have pushed myself to do at least 50k but I decided against it since I'll be working on at least one of the projects during July. I'm pretty sure I'll work on Countdown #1 but not sure if I'll stay with WYDM?! since I feel like I need to plot it out better since it took a weird turn. lol

In the mean time, in July I'll be going on vacation for a week so my expected turn out will be less than I'll expect. Initially, I thought 25k for the word goal but I've since lowered it to 20k because I think I'm going to spend more time plotting for my other story during my vacation and I'm not going to track those words. Writing takes no vacation! lol

My goal is to finish Countdown #1 so I can work on the other books in the series. Then my second project will most likely be plotting. Not sure which project I'll work on. I may focus on one or two for plotting, depends if I get stuck...either way I'm excited to be nearly done with the first draft!

I'll probably run through it once or twice and fill in any plot holes the best I can before I move on to the next book. Then I'll let it sit and focus on a different story. :)

I heard him curse. He stood there slouching over the table and my traitorous heart wanted to go comfort him. I gripped my arms to hold myself in place. He mumbled something. I strained my ears to hear what he said and I got glimpses of it. "Why couldn't you have stayed just a little longer." My chest turned as cold as I felt while I froze in the cooler. "If you stayed just a little longer I would have gotten you out of there. Now I need to find her before anyone else does." He planned on rescuing me? I shook my head, he was too late. I would have froze to death. He pounded the table again and sent more glass flying.

He grabbed a broom and dustpan from the opposite corner of the room. Slowly his shoes turned towards the broken glass and he kneeled to sweep it into the dust pan. He scooped the glass into the trash and he turned back to the table and his elbow must have knocked it down because a bottle fell. I heard him curse again and I realized as it rolled what it contained.

• Had caught up and wrote over the word count at one point for Countdown #1 but on Thursday I needed to take a break for mental health reasons.
• Slowly catching up on WYDM?! This story is taking me on a crazy ride and I'm trying to catch everything it's throwing at me.
• Tweaked these posts making my weeks end on Thursdays instead of Fridays because I haven't written anything by the point I'm ready for the posts to go up. Edits all previous posts to reflect the correct numbers. Excerpts and pictures remain the same.
• Still undecided for my project for July's Campnano at the moment.
• Unrelated to writing, I've been looking into online writing groups and CPs. Always looking for good reliable beta readers as well so shoot me an email if you're interested!

Then her husband needed to use the restroom but the boy wouldn't go so he left him for a few minutes. Maybe there was too much partying, food, or whatever excuse, everyone assumed that someone else had an eye on the boy. Turned out no one did." My chest clenched waiting for more. "He died. In the water. We didn't realize he was missing until it was too late. Found him a few miles down the shore."

"That's terrible..." said in awe not able to believe that happened.

"That's not the worst part. The husband was found with his head cracked open in the bathroom. Seemed that he slipped on water and fell." My eyes widened in horror and he continued, "They found his cousin in a car accident. Apparently there was a freak isolated storm and she drove off the road and into a ditch and hit a tree."

"Is she dead?"

He snorted and dropped his gaze sadly, "Almost. She's in a coma. Been there in that state for at least five years."

I let the weight of his story sit as I tried to digest it. Alma, no matter how crazy she sounded, maybe I should listen.

Decided to list some of my thoughts I've had during the week to give you a little more insight on my progress and/or struggles.

• I still enjoy switching between stories. Surprised this is working for me, maybe I can get 2 drafts done quicker at this rate. *fingers crossed* (Handwriting one project to typing the other project seems to work fine with me and doesn't confuse me as I thought might happen.)
• Skipped some days with no one to blame but myself because I felt uninspired and unmotivated. Now I regret it. lol
• Keeping inconsistent to my word count goals. Caught up on one project's word count. I fall behind on one project as I try to catch up on the other.
• Not exercising because it's too hot outside. ^_^;;
• Not sure if I'll finish these project by the end of June. Wondering if I should work on these project in July or work on a different project for Campnanowrimo July. I'll be taking a week off for vacation.
• Celebrated my Mom's birthday this week. A year from her birthday, I'd like to self-publish a book that I'm working on right now on that day.

I tried to keep my expression neutral at the frustration that stormed in his eyes. He took a deep breath and shook his head, "No, it can wait."

"If it's important you shouldn't wait."

His warm hand reached over and dwarfed mine. He squeezed mine gently and stared into my eyes as if willing me to believe, "You're important."

My eyes searched his and my traitorous body began to radiate heat that burned on my face. A wicked grin appeared on his face when he noticed my red face. He turned back to his phone and held it up showing me that it was completely off. "No more distractions. I promised you a fantastic date and I'm going to deliver."

A wry smile popped on my face, "Doing great so far."

He whipped towards me trying to decipher my meaning. He raised a pointed finger at me in warning, "You jest but I'll show you!"

I crossed my arms not impressed and focused my attention from his finger, which was surprising well kept, and followed it up to his face. I threw a smirk on my face and challenged, "Then prove it."

• Struggling with time management. All my friends want to hang out during my writing time.
• Trying to exercise more which hopefully helps with my writing.
• Word goal may have been more ambitious than I originally thought. Falling behind easily.
• The plot I originally had for WYDM has decided to change a bit which is throwing me off.
• I am enjoying switching gears between the two stories. Handwriting one project to typing the other project seems to work fine with me and doesn't confuse me as I thought might happen.
• Am not able to make up the word counts for both projects at the same time. I keep switching by writing the project which has fallen behind the most. XD

June 2015 Junowrimo - WritingProject: Countdown #1 and WYDM Intro

Hey guys! Sorry for the lack of updates. Things have been busy and I haven't been able to keep up for a bit. I have been reading which is good, but I'm still far behind on my TBR list. I'm behind on everything! Will try to fix that in June! 

I'm planning on doing Junowrimo! I had thought to only work on one project but decided to do two projects instead. The goal is 30k for each project which makes 60k total. That is 1k a day for each project meaning 2k a day total.

I've been able to do 2k before but that can be tough and only for one project. I wonder if working on two projects will make it easier for me or more difficult. We'll see how this little experiment turns out. One other thing to note is that I will be typing up one project and handwriting the other. I prefer the later when I write the first draft but the main reason I'm doing this is because I had already started writing both of those in the respective formats so decided to keep it up. Fingers crossed that I'll be able to do keep it up and do both!

In art news, I've been watercoloring and sketching but haven't been taking as many photos as I should lately. Whoops. I'll try to do that when there is some good lighting, it's been raining off and on here. I did go on a little art supply shopping spree but that was because I happened to see a clearance sale and I couldn't resist. I really shouldn't have a reason not to use all my supplies! Anyways, hopefully I'll be able to change things up a bit and maybe sketch some of the characters in these projects instead of my other story. I'm sure you're tired of seeing them all the time. XD

Now on to the projects! They are both projects you've seen from me before so it shouldn't really be anything extremely new. I did realize that the Countdown series is not going to be sci-fi anymore, it's paranormal. I think. Unless someone tells me otherwise, it is going to be paranormal for now. lol Again, my goal is to finish these drafts so I'll take as long as is deemed necessary, I'll carry this on through July for Campnanowrimo too if needed. I'll just switch it from Junowrimo to July Campnano in my header post.

If you're curious about my math (I adjust as needed but I always underestimate my current word count):

• Write 7 pages like normal in my current Staples Sustainable Earth Composition Notebook
• Count words by line for each of those 7 pages then divided by number of lines on the page (25 lines)
• Take averages of all 7 pages then find average words per line = 11.2 words
• 11 (words) x 25 (lines) = 275 words per page
• 1000 (daily word count) / 275 = 3.64 pages
• Round up and overestimate word count = 4 pages a day

Thus I need to write at least 4 pages a day to make my daily word count.

Otakon and Matsuricon 2013 Con Reports + 2012 Sketch Dump

Well, I've been busier than I would have liked these last few days. Wasn't able to get any posts written lately. Anyways, finally on to the Con reports, I'm just cutting down to the important parts as I don't have time to write about everything. I should have been better prepared before the cons because I was still rushing to get things done the week before them. lol

Random Old Sketches and Junowrimo Update

More old sketches where I wished that I had dated them. XD Most are old but some of them are dated. lol

I've update the comment system with Disqus so that it'll be easier for you guys to post and for me to reply. I'm sorry I don't reply to you guys even though I want to but it's hard to do it through blogger so I usually try to reply through Twitter or some other means. lol I don't think you guys mind. Still it's a bother so I installed this so hopefully this makes it much easier for you guys. :D

Wasn't able to get through reading all my books before they were due but that's ok. I'll return them and get them out again later. That's the beauty of the wonderful library system. ^_~ I really need to read some of the books that I want to read before they are due. lol

Junowrimo is going ok, I was doing great but slacked horribly this past weekend. Right now I'm about 4k behind but lots of things came up this weekend and I just couldn't get into gear with writing. I'm hoping to catch up so I can make my word count this week! :D Still haven't worked on an outline, may need to set aside time sometime this week to actually do that. lol

Old (Before-I-Started-Dating-my-Work) Sketches - 2006-2008

Wow, sorry guys, I keep falling behind on my weekly posts! >_<;; I have to work on that.

The first dated sketch in this post was in 2008 but I think these started in 2006 or 2007 before I thought to learn to date my work. haha I regret it now since it would have been good to see when I started them. I'm the type that takes forever to get through a sketchbook so if you're like me and you're reading this now and you don't date your work, do it now, you'll be happy that you did later in life when you refer back to them! If you start doing that then I've done my artist civil duty today. ^_~

Lately I've been working but I've picked up the writing project for JuNoWriMo which is basically NaNoWriMo in June! I was actually going to do the CampNaNo in July but decided why not start now?! lol That's a good and bad thing. I wanted a good outline before I started writing but that kept getting pushed off so I decided to just start writing and change things later. lol So far so good, I've been able to keep up but I want to stay ahead but I'm running out of material. Pulling things off from the top of my head. haha Still it's good fun, if not crazy illogical, sometimes. Going to attempt the July CampNaNo after June so it's going to be some crazy two months.

Are any of you crazies going to attempt July CampNaNo right after JuNoWrimo? Hope you all are taking care of yourselves. :D

2012 SD Blindfolded Love and WYDM?! Sketches

Sorry guys, haven't been able to get any good blog posts out lately. Here's another sketch dump!

Sick + Sketch Dump

Sorry guys, I haven't gotten around to finishing my blog posts for book binding so you're going to have to wait for another week. It'll be worth it, I promise!

I've almost finished with my submission to an anthology. I just need to do a cover. Have to brainstorm some ideas for that. Otherwise, I've just been trying to tone the one shot comic I've been working on. Still need to work on inking some other pages for another comic I was wanting to do but that looks unlikely for now. Need to get an outline done so I can finish writing that novel I've been wanting to do to prep for next month.

Just been feeling sick lately and have had a loss of appetite because of it so I've just been trying to take care of myself. Decided to take a long nap yesterday which I think helped me for sure. :D I don't usually get sick but when I do I'm kind of a mess. >_<;; Still feeling a bit lightheaded but my stomach is feeling better so I'm grateful for that. I'm hoping this doesn't last long because I don't like being sick and I want to get some stuff done!

There's more that I wanted to write about but I can't remember what it is at the moment. Sorry if this post is random and doesn't make any sense. XD Yeah, I've been kind of out of it so have some sketches!

Old/Ugly Sketch Dump

As the title says, this is a small sketch dump of old or ugly sketches. This post is quite embarrassing but this is pretty much how some of my sketch pages look like. lol Not all are this ugly but they can be uglier sometimes. XD

The first image below is a character I was drawing that my brother and I created but turned out she has too much attitude than what he wanted in the character. He wanted a more timid character so that she could grow. I like my girls strong. lol

1st Post of the Year + Back to School

First post of the year! Yay!

Here are a bunch of random doodles/sketches. lol I'm not going to describe all the characters, I'll let you figure them out. Plus I have the webcomics tagged. lol

The animal sketches below were supposed to be 'cute' clay charms that I was going to make. I wanted to sketch out the designs before I did them....still need to make them.

So far I've found myself working a little more consistently on a few comics instead of jumping around so much. Namely: Blindfolded Love, Beauty & the Beast(title still pending), Unleash, 2Reflections, and Stolen Kiss. Although, I'm proud to say that I've been working mostly on the first two. :D I'm glad I've been able to focus on only a few instead of switching every so often. lol Yeah I know I still have problems. XD

Finals Over + Winter Break

Bleh, sorry I've been dead lately...if you haven't been keeping up with my dA or livejournal entries then you don't know I just finished finals last Wednesday and my Graduate Application the Wednesday before that. lol So I've been busy trying to get that all sorted out first. So I'll be on break until school starts again January 3. OTL Thing is, I have assignments assigned a week prior to my first class so I'll be working on that probably the last week of break. T_T But at least it'll be my last trimester (yes I said trimester, it's not a typo) for my bachelors and we'll see if I got into grad school.

Enough of the complaining now. ^_^;; After my finals I ended up just being a bum at home, working, and relaxing catching up on movies. Glad to finally relax. X3 Sort of been drawing, I've got a list of things I want to do/complete during break but the more I think about it the more I think I won't finish it all. lol Oh well I should try to prioritize them at least. I just hate that the sun is setting so late so when I get home after work, there is about 2 hours of daylight and then night....-_-;; I don't really like wasting electricity to draw so I ended up sitting on the computer. Which is fine since I'm trying to do something on the computer. I guess I need to make the most of my time during the day. lol

Hopefully this random bunches of sketches will make up for my lack of  updates. *tries to act cute* /shot lol Anyways, doubt anyone really cares but I'm trying to draw the horses for BL and 2R. I guess I'll let rest of you guys whose who. If you have questions or can't figure out which is which, feel free to comment. XD

Stress Release...

Horrible sketches, I know but I had to throw something out there. Haven't updated in awhile, been busy with school...T_T Gots lots more doodles but not many finished drawings....OTL XD On the left is Azriel, Kalex, then Zephan and Xexilia. Lately Zephan and Xexilia have been the easiest for me to draw together.

Been drawing lately, which is weird but feels so good. It's helping release some of my stress. ^_^ Did that instead of studying...*fails* I'm almost done with all of my characters. They are all at least sketched. I've inked most of them. Finished a bunch last night which I'm proud of. ^_^ I'm missing a few of my other characters but they aren't fully developed yet so it's ok. XD Now I need to scan them in and color. XP They all pretty much have their own palettes already but I need to sit and color. Some of the designs are lame and will probably change but at least they exist on paper. XP

Here we have Neveah at the top and Skava at the bottom. I've realized I can draw girls much easier than guys...So I'm gonna try to practice drawing guys more. Wish me luck on finishing things!!! XD
