Nanowrimo Ends but Janowrimo Begins!

So I was about to erase my dry erase board before I decided to take a picture which is why there is a white space where a line should be between Monday and Tuesday. XD Sorry about that. haha

My first Nanowrimo was a failure for 2012. I was attempting to write my version of Beauty and the Beast called Wildly Charming. I've been procrastinating on this post for far too long. I should have wrote this blog post right after the event. haha It wasn't a complete failure though since I was able to get to 12,477 words. I think I wasn't as ready for it because I didn't have a good outline so I was pulling stuff out of my butt. When I got about several days behind I was torn between continuing or stopping and have a better outline. I settled for stopping. I know, bad. Still I was starting brainstorm and thought about combining some of my stories into one. Then I decided to change the setting and story line which basically makes everything I wrote useless. lol Still it was a good experience. I've decided that I need to have a good solid outline before I'm able to write decently.

Right now I'm sort of attempting the January Nanowrimo which is called on Twitter #Janowrimo and I'm giving it a try but not doing so good at the moment. I really want to get Cryptic Treasures written but I haven't made a good outline for it yet although I have written a screen play which I'm loosely basing the novel on. The novel is going to be more in depth than the screen play. This story I've been plotting for awhile but never got around to actually writing it and it's been sitting for a long time. The characters in this story feel more alive to me than any others but as always the middle is always murky to me. Not going to give up and will try to go write it the best I can for now and edit the crap out of it later. lol

Lessons I've Learned:

• Outlines are good
• Know the characters beforehand
• Have at least one general problem to for the hero/heroine to overcome
• Keep a minimum amount of characters possible that keeps the story going
• Don't get caught up with grammar/spelling
• Have a point in each scene
• Take notes of inspiration when you get it or you'll forget it

Those are the ones I can think of at the moment but I may add some later after I finish the January Nanowrimo. Now I probably was not as dedicated as many other Nanowriters so just take my opinions with a grain of salt. I really hope to get a project finished by the end of the year. I should update my New Year Resolution and Goals. haha Next post I suppose. lol Hope we all have a happy and successful 2013!

A Blast From The Past - Sketch Dump

Another blast from the past! Sorry wasn't able to come up with a good post so have an old sketch dump! Please don't mind the ugliness and all the head shots for the first two images!

I think these are dated in 2006 or 2007. XD It was before I started dating my images which was around 2008. XD These are another group of really old sketches of my characters. lol I still need to work on my consistency and proportions. XD It's is also about when I started forcing myself to sketch with pen. Just throwing this up here to show that I started from horribleness but am slowly training and teaching myself to draw. :D

November Game Plan + Breaking Progress

Above is old progress(a year or so...) of my comic Breaking. It shows my thumbnails/script that I started and a few pages of the actual comic but as usual nothing complete or nearly complete which is fine. I wasn't quite sure where I was going with this comic anyways. XD I lately had a break through on what the general plot may be but have yet to devise an ending of any sort for this comic. (Trying not to give away any spoilers but let's say it's something Fairytale related) lol I have the main characters completed for the most part but will probably still develop and them some more. Enjoy trying to read my chicken scratch. XD

1st Post of the Year + Back to School

First post of the year! Yay!

Here are a bunch of random doodles/sketches. lol I'm not going to describe all the characters, I'll let you figure them out. Plus I have the webcomics tagged. lol

The animal sketches below were supposed to be 'cute' clay charms that I was going to make. I wanted to sketch out the designs before I did them....still need to make them.

So far I've found myself working a little more consistently on a few comics instead of jumping around so much. Namely: Blindfolded Love, Beauty & the Beast(title still pending), Unleash, 2Reflections, and Stolen Kiss. Although, I'm proud to say that I've been working mostly on the first two. :D I'm glad I've been able to focus on only a few instead of switching every so often. lol Yeah I know I still have problems. XD

Finals Over + Winter Break

Bleh, sorry I've been dead lately...if you haven't been keeping up with my dA or livejournal entries then you don't know I just finished finals last Wednesday and my Graduate Application the Wednesday before that. lol So I've been busy trying to get that all sorted out first. So I'll be on break until school starts again January 3. OTL Thing is, I have assignments assigned a week prior to my first class so I'll be working on that probably the last week of break. T_T But at least it'll be my last trimester (yes I said trimester, it's not a typo) for my bachelors and we'll see if I got into grad school.

Enough of the complaining now. ^_^;; After my finals I ended up just being a bum at home, working, and relaxing catching up on movies. Glad to finally relax. X3 Sort of been drawing, I've got a list of things I want to do/complete during break but the more I think about it the more I think I won't finish it all. lol Oh well I should try to prioritize them at least. I just hate that the sun is setting so late so when I get home after work, there is about 2 hours of daylight and then night....-_-;; I don't really like wasting electricity to draw so I ended up sitting on the computer. Which is fine since I'm trying to do something on the computer. I guess I need to make the most of my time during the day. lol

Hopefully this random bunches of sketches will make up for my lack of  updates. *tries to act cute* /shot lol Anyways, doubt anyone really cares but I'm trying to draw the horses for BL and 2R. I guess I'll let rest of you guys whose who. If you have questions or can't figure out which is which, feel free to comment. XD

Side Story Manga Contest

Here is another drawing of Kalex and Azri. X3 I like these two, but I need to define Kalex's personality a bit more. I can't decide if I want to make him less wimpy than Azri. I don't want him wimpy but Azri is definitely more adventurous than him. But he's tough in his own way. :) Still working on that. lol

Ok...I totally failed in the August One Shot Challenge I was gonna do...no surprise. Ended up hanging out with friends, watching movies, and reading manga. XD Ah oh well....but now I'm gonna try to finish a web manga for a contest. I have it all scripted out and thumbnails done, it should be around 20 pages. Just need to finish ink, tone, and add speech bubble. Hope I get it done on time. This would be my first web manga completed. XD *crosses finger* I don't know what to call it yet but it'll be a side story about Citlali and Eliam from my comic collaboration. I hope people will like it too.
