Busy Life + 2012 Sketch Dump

Sorry guys, just so busy with stuff as my sister's wedding is coming up and life in general. I know it's not a great excuse but it's keeping me busy. Plus my youngest brother graduated and my other brother came in town to visit so of course I'll have to hang out with them. Crazy how time is flying by so quickly! D: Need to try to get more done! *shuffles crazily*

I really wanted to do Junowrimo this month but it's highly unlikely that I'll join in because I'll be too stressed. I might try to rebel and finish up a WIP instead because I'll be able to handle that more. I'll try that at the very least. Are any of you guys attempting that then July Campnanowrimo?

I haven't been able to sketch as much lately either. Need to remedy that quickly! Especially when I keep buying more. lol I need to get photos from my camera so I can blog about a few events I went to the last few weeks. Whoops. I'll get on that too.

Oh yeah. I better get started on my Maid of Honor speech too. Ugh, I hate public speaking but this has to be good. I promised it would be and I've got a few ideas. I just need to write it all out. Any tips from you veterans out there? I can't wait for this to be over so I can move on and focus on the stuff I want to such as writing and more drawing. haha

1st Annual Big Comic Show + 2012 Sketch Dump

This Saturday, May 17, I'll be at the 1st Annual Big Comic Show at Pickerington Library! I'll be there with a bunch of other awesome local comic creators/illustrators! So stop by and check us out! The event is totally free! I heard the weather should be awesome so no reason not to stop by, right? ^_~ The event lasts from 11am to 4pm. I'll have prints, buttons, stickers, bookmarks, and my notebooks for sale if you're interested! :)

Sorry guys. I know I missed the last few weeks. I've just been busy with RL and haven't had time to write a post. I've been planning my sister's bridal shower/bachelorette and has been more time consuming than I thought it would be but it's coming up in the next few weeks so I'll be done with that soon.

I'll probably still be MIA for the next few weeks because of it. I'm going to just set up a few schedule sketch dumps for the next few weeks so you'll still have something new from me. I should have done it for the last few weeks but things kept coming up and I would just say I'd make it up later to discover the new week just passed. I need to keep up with this blog again.

I have been trying to flesh out one of my stories. I took a break on it for a bit before jumping back in. I wanted to write more but I don't think I'll be able to until I figure out my characters and overall plot line. Still, do note I am working on it....slowly....lol

I also stopped by Fort Hayes for the 8th annual Ohioana Book Festival this pas Saturday! It was interesting. I wanted to attend previous years but things always came up. I decided to go despite the terrible rain. I'm not going to lie, half way there I desperately regretted being out there but once I made it to my destination it was much better. lol I'll make another post with some pictures I took to share with you all!

2012 Sketch Dump + Nanowrimo: Half Way Mark

Hanging in there. Since I'm using the Reverse Nanowrimo Method it should all be downhill from here....but that won't stop me from writing more than I need to while I'm in the zone!

Whoops! Forgot to add to this! Well I've officially wrote over 40k! I was able to pull off another 20k this week by writing 6k yesterday which happens to be my personal best for my daily word count. The official word count for the personal best is 6,224 which beats out the previous 4,330. I wasn't sure I was going to make the word goal but I'm extremely proud to have done it. :D The current official word count to date right now is 41,248. I'm writing a lot more than I thought I was going to do which I think is a good thing.

When I hit 50k I'm considering whether or not to continue writing or stopping and writing a decent outline before I continue writing...I'm torn because I don't really know where I'm going with the story but I also want to keep writing while I can and am in the spirit. We'll see what happens when I hit 50k which I expect to be some time next week. :D

Finished Sketchbook + 2011 Sketches

Ok, so I meant to have a more substantial post this past week but before I knew it, it was already Tuesday so you guys get a sketch post! I also meant to write up something during the weekend but I got distracted....>_<;; I know, bad excuse. Anyways, still trying to get back into the swing of things.

I was able to focus and on getting a tiny bit of inking for Citlali's story and some toning for Eilam's story. I also was able to write a bit of Blindfolded Love but nothing all remarkable considering the time I had to do it. I spent most of my weekend reading or on the computer browsing, not doing anything as productive as I would like. Hm....still I'm happy to have made myself do something, even if it wasn't much. :D

Eh, I wasn't really able to do Janowrimo at all so I was hoping to catch up during a Nanowrimo in February instead. So far, still not working out the way I wanted. I still lack focus and motivation but I'm getting a bit better. I keep thinking about other stories or projects I have which is probably the most distracting for me. Do any of you have the same problem? I need to learn to focus on one project at a time but I'm really horrible at it. So I focus on 2-3 projects so I don't get bored and I'm making a little practice on at least one of them. lol

Progress: Eilam's Side Story

Here are some illegible thumbnails I drew for Eilam's side story. If you know where to look you can find the script to read it. I'll let you find it since I still have to finish the comic and don't want to totally spoil you guys. LAME HINT: It's on one of my accounts. ;D

If you can figure what I drew here, congrats! You get a gluten-free cookie! lol J/k Really it's pretty illegible and I don't know how many of you can decipher it. Let me know if you can! I'd really like to know what you think of it. XD This is the bare minimum for me to understand how I want the pages to look. Sometimes I have to think a little more at how I wanted the composition before I actually do it. XD

Pencil Sketches

Back from Florida! Expect an update on things this Friday. Sorry this is late, I still don't know how to schedule posts. -_-;;

I wanna say this was 2010-2011...lol More old smudgy sketches. I apologize for the quality but you can still see it. XD This is when I still sketched in pencil and before I knew about fixative. >_<;; As most of you who follow me regularly already know that I sketch with pen now-a days (they smudge less and I force myself to make every stroke count :D).

I think around this time I was finally finding my own style and sketching more decently. :D Was also starting to figure out and define my characters some more. I was also practicing filling out my pages instead of one character/element per page. I also went back and filled out all the pages I did that in my sketchbooks so that is also sort of why I'm taking forever to finish them. XD Gotta make every space count, right? :D

24 Hour Comics Day Prep

Sorry no sketch page today, I'll make up for it by adding 2 next time. ^_~

Slowly working on Eilam's story, I've got about 10 pages penciled but I didn't do any backgrounds as I suck at them. I also need to plan it out which is why I'm just drawing the figures first. XD It should be 26 pages so almost half way through pencils. I plan on just scanning those in and edit them on the computer. Also I want to add the word bubbles and text on the computer as I don't really trust my own handwriting. lol The progress was really the past week or so, I suddenly felt like I needed to do something. I'm happy that I'm getting it done! Need to keep this motivation up! XD

I was going to do a challenge for myself this past Sunday to do 12 comic pages in 12 hours but I couldn't because my family decided to celebrate my parent's anniversary with a lunch that day instead of the actual date on Friday, so I couldn't do it. lol That was going to be in preparation of the 24 Hour Comics Day because I wanted to see if I could do it. I'm kinda excited for it since I've never had a true all-nighter before. I'm weird, I know. lol I don't think I've ever stayed up 24 hours straight, I always found a way to sleep. XD I think the least amount of sleep I've ever had was 3 hours. lol Hopefully I can finish the pages. I've never done it before but we'll see! I'm going to do my best! I hope it'll be fun too! lol Hopefully I won't be grumpy either cause sometimes I do if i don't get enough sleep. ^_^;; Oh if you want to follow my progress I'll be tweeting on my twitter(twitter.com/aisazia) if you're interested in seeing me either succeed or fail. Haha, been doing a lot of sketching lately. Not so much illustrating as I had hoped. Probably doesn't help that I'm watching movie with my parents or doing other things. lol Been journaling fairly consistently each day but sketching not so much. Need to stop that. Going to try to sketch every day, even if it's only for 15 minutes or so. *is determined*

JCP Mission and Script/Sketch Update

Heh, yep I'm still sketching once in awhile. ^_~ The image above is a previous scene for a JCP Mission that I thought of after I already had the line art of the other image done. Click here to see the finished image of their reaction. It is basically Eilam whistling while Felix on the left is hollering at some girls while poor Duorick (middle) is stuck appalled. The guys are just cat-calling some girls showing Duorick how to pick up some girls. lol It was fun to do.
