Puerto Rico 2016

Sorry for the lack of updates. I really need to get back into being productive with my work. Recently I've been fortunate enough to travel to San Juan, Puerto Rico this past Spring! It was lots of fun and I really enjoyed it. I went with my family and a friend so I wasn't alone. Here's a few glimpses of my travels.

I had plans to wind down and write or sketch but that didn't happen as much as I had hoped since we were constantly moving more than I expected which was fine. We were there for a week and while it was drizzly and partly sunny, it didn't deter us from enjoying ourselves. I actually appreciated the clouds so I didn't have the opportunity to burn myself before my friend's wedding.

Her wedding was good! No major mishaps so I'd consider it a success. Most things went according to plan and other than a few minor downsides (cold weather where we had to wear a strapless dress and heels as well as a light rain) it went well. A lot of people didn't speak English so there were people rudely talking during the wedding ceremony and reception speeches. Other than that, I think it was good and I'm so glad it's over. Sorry, no pictures for that since it's a private thing but know that it was successful. Now I can focus on the things I want to do! AKA find a full time job and work on my art and writing.

Now on to the photos!

Pics as we're descending towards Puerto Rico.

Vacation Weekend + Campnanowrimo + Otakon Prep + 2012 Sketch Dump

I'm alive! Ok I suppose I didn't mention that I went skydiving this past Sunday. It was part of a huge vacation weekend I had with my family. That sort of explains why I didn't have a post last week. Although in hindsight I could have scheduled one but I was too busy. >_<;; Sorry guys! Anyways skydiving was a blast! I went to Cedar Point with my brother and hiking the next day. Needless to say I was tired and wasn't in the mood to write a blog post when I got home. I had a good time but was super exhausted. I needed a few days to recover and even still I didn't really fully recover until this weekend. lol

I was able to read some books this past week which I'm glad about because I still have stacks I need to get through. lol Oh the end of July's Campnanowrimo was this Wednesday and I'm happy to say I completed my word count goal of 20k! I managed 20, 083 for the total. This was sprinting about 4k on the last day because of my busy weekend. XD I was glad to have made it, I wasn't sure if I was going to make it. lol The story is still far from complete but it's getting there. I did skip around a lot and wrote a bunch of scenes as I felt inspired. Better than nothing. :D

Florida Vacation 2012

Back from my vacation! It was ok. There were ups and downs but overall there were good moments and bad. Not gonna go into it here. Went diving and saw lots of cool critters (turtles, baracuda, lion fish, sea urchin, puffer fish, and a bunch of fish I don't know). Definitely plan on using some ideas and things I saw while on vacation to use in my "Little Mermaid" spinoff. :D /ends teasing

Gosh, I don't know how people take the beach for granted. I only went twice and didn't really stay long for either but if I lived there I'd at least go once a week. The reasons we didn't stay long is- one: because we were on a deadline and two: because I didn't want to get a sunburn and was tired/bored. There were no waves or anything interesting for one of the beaches. Went shopping at flea markets which are cool because I got a bunch of cheap useful items. Definitely wish that they had more of those where I live. Reminded me of the night markets in Taiwan when I visited. :3 I definitely could get used to the Florida weather although maybe not so hot. XD It was nice though when we were there at least for the most part, although we got lucky because we left before it started to storm. lol

I did surprise myself with being able to sketch a bunch and brainstorm on some of my comics! Super excited about that! Then again I was in a car for 8+ hours so there was only so much I could do. At least I used the time productively....now to be able to continue this streak...Luckily I was able to pump out a bunch of sketches and ideas for several of my comics. lol I was surprised I was able to handle sketching and writing in the car.
